  • Organic Synthesis: ‘Ca’-talysis

The Mainstream Research Topics of Our Interests are:
    • Allenes: Synthesis & Functionalization
    • Dyotropic Rearrangements and Other 1,2-Rearrangements
    • Mechanochemistry: Synthesis and Reactivity Studies of Strain-Driven Reactions
    • Building block Synthesis: small to complex molecules from a-Imino Ketones /Green Chemistry
    • C-H Functionalizations
    • Propargyl Alcohols: Paving the Way to Diverse Structural Motifs and Exciting Reaction Paths.

Our research program focuses on developing sustainable synthetic strategies for the functionalization of allenes, alkynols, Enynes, and diverse small-molecule building blocks. We leverage earth-abundant catalysts and highly selective reaction pathways to synthesize complex, biologically relevant chemical entities.

1. Calcium Catalysis (Emerging Green Catalysis)
We are a pioneering research group exploring calcium salts as sustainable Lewis acid alternatives to traditional, toxic transition-metal catalysts. Calcium offers exceptional benefits for green chemistry:
    • High natural abundance
    • Non-toxic and biodegradable profile
    • Excellent moisture tolerance

By exploiting these properties, we have successfully implemented calcium catalysts across a wide range of organic transformations, advancing the field of sustainable chemical synthesis.
